ANMANARI BROWN

Anmanari Brown was born at Purpurna in the early 1930s, secret country of the water snake, a big rock hole with lots of water. She travelled around with her family in the bush of the Western Desert before whitefellas came to the lands. She settled at Warburton mission in Western Australia where she attended school. She now lives in Irrunytju with her husband Nyakul Dawson and her daughters, and began painting with Irrunytju Arts soon after 2000.
