IVY LAIDLAW

Ivy Laidlaw was born c 1945 at a rock hole called Walpapulka near Irrunytju. She spent much of her childhood at the Warburton Mission where she learned English, hymns and bible stories. Over the course of her childhood and early adulthood she continually traveled back to her traditional country with family members to learn the Tjukurpa and how to survive in the desert.
Ivy is a founding member of Irrunytju arts and a highly regarded sculptor, weaver and story teller.
